RCGP Green Impact for Health scheme
At the practice we have recently enrolled in the RCGP Green Impact for Health scheme which was developed in 2015 by the NUS and is backed by the Royal College of General Practitioners. This scheme is designed to improve the environmental performance of general practice while saving money and ensuring that the way we provide our services offers the greatest benefit to society as a whole. This involves us making changes within the practice to make us more sustainable and providing healthcare in a way that is beneficial to patients and reduces our carbon footprint.
We are committed to making these changes which we hope will also improve the health and wellbeing of our patients and staff. Our initial focus is on reducing waste and increasing recycling, reducing our use of paper, prescribing responsibly and promoting healthier lifestyles.
We believe that this project is important because it is known that global climate change is linked to human activity and we all need to make efforts to combat this. We hope that you will support us in this.
